EGF is used to promote stem cells and cell lines in culture. It is typically used in the concentration of 5-10 µg/ml. EGF has been shown to interact with the epidermal growth factor receptor and PIK3R2. rHu EGF produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain that contains 53 amino acids and has a molecular mass of 6.2 kDa.
