Akron recently participated in the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine (ARM) Cell & Gene Meeting on the Mesa, joining hundreds of the largest companies in the cell and gene therapy space to discuss progress to date and foster a shared vision for the future of regenerative medicine.

Panels covered themes including the impact of Brexit on the cell and gene therapy industry, the evolution of payment arrangements to maximize patient access to costly, life-saving therapies, and the future of gene editing from the perspective of leading companies in the space.

Following a successful meeting on the Mesa, the Akron team will be participating in several conferences this month. For starters, we will be attending the inaugural Phacilitate Leaders Asia event, taking place 15th – 16th October in Shanghai, China. The event highlights the growing role of the Asia Pacific region in the regenerative medicine industry, and addresses the need for greater and more productive engagement across geographies.

Akron will be sponsoring this year’s BioFlorida Conference in Tampa, FL between October 20th and 22nd. Ezequiel Zylberberg, PhD (Akron Biotech) will moderate a panel entitled “Accelerating Regenerative Medicine in Florida: Challenges and Opportunities Ahead,” with Charles J. Bruce, MD (Mayo Clinic Florida), Geoff Green (Longeveron), Keith March, MD, PhD (University of Florida), and David Shepard (Arthrex, Inc.)

Finally, Akron will participate in the upcoming European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ESGCT) Congress, held in Barcelona between October 22nd and 25th. Representatives of research institutions, private companies and clinical centers from around the world will convene to explore the latest developments in robust scientific and commercial programs.

If you are attending these conferences, please reach out! We’d be glad to connect while out on the road. Akron is committed to accelerating the development and commercialization of advanced therapies. We look forward to learning more about your work, and how we can support the development of your therapeutic programs with our cGMP products and manufacturing services.
