As Autumn quickly approaches and conference season begins, the Akron Biotech team is preparing to participate in several events showcasing talks by leading industry experts and exhibitions spanning the cell, gene and biotech therapeutic industries. These events offer a great opportunity for Akron to better understand our clients’ challenges, global regulatory directives and how our innovations, like affordable cGMP cytokines, viral inactive human products and DMSO-free cryoprotectants, continue to help expedite the discovery and commercialization process.
During Biotech Week Boston (Sept 9th-13th), Akron will be exhibiting in Booth 1900 at Knect365 BioProcess International (BPI) / Cell and Gene Therapy Bioprocessing and Commercialization (Sept 10th-12th). The conference includes supplemental networking events, training sessions, and keynote presentations by industry leading experts, so stop by to meet our team and hear more about our products.
Also in Boston that week, Hanson Wade’s CAR-TCR Summit (Sept 11th & 12th) focuses on the current state of CAR-TCR therapies and the successes as well as difficulties that are experienced in manufacturing scale up and logistics. CEO and founder of Akron, Dr. Claudia Zylberberg, a respected thought leader in the ancillary materials space, will be chairing the panel on ‘Manufacturing Techniques to Support the Heterogeneous & Patient-Specific Material of Autologous Therapy’ at 2pm on Wednesday, September 10th.
Akron will also be attending the International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy (ISCT) North America Regional Meeting (Sept 13th-15th) in Madison, Wisconsin. ISCT manages at every event to tackle a multitude of topics from research through to market authorization while excelling at educational growth to all attendees.
In October, the Akron team will travel out to La Jolla, CA to take part in the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine’s (ARM) Cell & Gene Meeting on the Mesa (Oct 2nd-4th), a well-executed networking and partnering event for which attendance continues to grow.
Later that month, we will join the Phacilitate team at their Leaders Forum Asia (Oct 15th-16th) in Shanghai China and exhibit with our local distributor, XP Biomed. XP has a strong technical team to serve the rapidly expanding immunotherapy market.
Finally, we will wind down into the holidays by attending the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) meeting (Nov 6th-10th) in National Harbor, MD, a fitting end for an industry that began in the clinics with determined researchers who refused to ignore patients and their unmet therapeutic needs.
For Akron, these conferences serve as useful checkpoints, reminding us of the progress that we as an industry have achieved, and – perhaps more importantly – engaging us in the exciting future that is yet to come.
