As a scorching summer draws to a close and conference season begins, Akron will be participating at many upcoming events to further advocate for the use of higher quality ancillary materials in regenerative medicine processes. Our focus of providing affordable cGMP reagents throughout the development stages for these unique therapeutics serves to better ensure reproducibility in final products and enhance safety for patients.
During the Cell & Gene Therapy Bioprocess & Commercialization conference in Boston from September 4 – 7, Akron’s Senior Director of Global Sales, Kim Bure, will join Amgen and Takeda on a panel to discuss ‘What Can Cell Therapy Manufacturers Learn from MAbs to Save Time and Money on the Path to Commercial Scale Manufacturing’ (Commercial Track) at 10:55 am on Wednesday, September 5. With over 70 years of experience manufacturing pharmaceuticals, 20 years of biologics and most recently biosimilars, Akron is adept at guiding clients through the requirements of cGMP and maintaining a robust quality management system (QMS) for complex large molecule raw materials.
Concurrently in Boston, Dr. Claudia Zylberberg, CEO of Akron, will be speaking at the CAR-TCR Summit regarding ‘Innovative Material Options to Fuel Advances in CAR-T Therapies via Automation’ at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, September 5, addressing ways to maintain control throughout smaller scale autologous processes which require numerous reagents to complete. Shikira Gray, Senior Director of North America Sales, and Jennifer Karekos, Customer Project Coordinator, will also be available at Booth #41 in the Exhibit Hall to detail Akron’s portfolio of cGMP cytokines, human serum albumin (HSA), human AB serum, and DMSO-free cryoprotectants.
Later in the month, Akron representatives will be attending Cord Blood Connect in Miami from September 14 – 16 to meet with existing and prospective clients for our cGMP CryoSolve line of ready-to-use cryoprotectant syringes. Finally, on September 28, Dr. Zylberberg will be honored with an award during the HUF American Dreamer Panel at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL.
