Biological Activity: The ED50 calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of BAF3 cells expressing FGF receptors (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is <1.5 ng/mL.

Physical State of the Product: Sterile filtered white lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor in sterile nanopure water not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted in other aqueous solutions.

Stability and Storage: Lyophilized Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution bFGF should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) and store below -18°C.
