Custom Made Antibody Service

Akron Biotech offers a service of polyclonal antibody production aimed to support the needs of Biotechnology Companies and Research Groups.

Hosts: Rabbit, Goat, Sheep

Immunization Protocol: we will use our own immunization protocols or a protocol adapted to the customer’s specifications.

Antigens: We generate polyclonal antibodies to antigens (natural or recombinant) that are provided by the customer. These may be already purified and ready to inject. Alternatively we offer processing services (for example, SDS-PAGE gel slices), or coupling to a carrier protein if required.

Yield: The client will receive approximately 2-10 ml of pre-immune serum and 50-70 ml of immune serum per rabbit, and 300-350 ml of immune serum per goat or sheep. Extended production could be arranged on demand.

Purification: Serum can be purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation, ionic exchange or affinity chromatography to meet your requirements.

Additional Services: the antibodies can be fragmented if required.

Time frame: A typical project lasts approximately 3 months.

Follow-up: Periodical bleedings are carried out to evaluate the progress of the immune response, by ELISA and/or Western blot. Samples of these are sent to the customer.
